Why is svchost using so much memory windows 7

My guess is that Microsoft didn't allow for SLC based XE enterprise class drives and thus superfetch is still on by default. First I disabled SuperFetch followed by a restart.

My system went from being fast and sometimes sluggish in Explorer. However the high RAM usage disappeared. I've just performed that registry edit and there's no discernable difference between superfetch being disabled and caching boot files only.
