As a person? He didn't care of society accepted him or not. He was who he was. People need to learn that attitude. Lol I don't know about that but it may have just been the long hair and holes in his pants. Actually, he probably had shorter hair then most of what was being pushed at the time. I kind of agree with you but there's plenty of other artist who aren't really idolized as much as him. I understand them liking Nirvana because they basically invented Grunge rock but why do they specifically love Kurt Cobain as a person?

I mean I never heard of him donating to charities or being an activist or anything. As far as I know he was a druggie who had problems. No offense to any Kurt Cobain lovers. I mean I love Nirvana as a band and I like Kurt as a singer and his voice and they have such a great unique style but what's with the tattoos and stuff of Kurt?

I don't see people who have tattoos of Bon Jovi or Bono or anything. I'm not talking about his artistic ability as much as I'm talking about him as a person and what he did. If that makes sense. It wasn't just bc of 'being cool'. He was special. His songs are so deep that when I hear them I have goosebumps. This is why I don't like these girls nowadays calling themselves 'grunge' while wearing Nirvana shirts and know max 2 songs. Cause it's not just cool. Nirvana isn't one of those bands you listen to for being cool. Once you know Kurt's life and think about his lyrics, you understand. He was genuis in his own way.

Tragic life story and all that. I wasn't old enough to sit up by myself when he died, sadly. But other than that he seemed to be a very down to earth person who wasn't afraid of being himself. And that's so hard to find. His music feels like real emotion and for people who go through tough patches in their lives, be it a bad day or a bad year So it's not surprising that people would get tattoos of him.

He has helped out a lot of people who are hurting inside, myself included. Maybe if he was still alive he wouldn't be such a big deal, though. It's like Marilyn Monroe kind of. She's still famous because she died when she was young and beautiful.
