When you do enough damage, the first phase ends and the Corrupted Creator gets serious. Now it will call more powerful monsters to its aid. Again, your best strategy is to avoid them. Keep your health up at all times, though, and be ready to heal your ally if necessary. Then watch for black bile to come raining down in globs. When that happens, the smaller foes will vanish and you have time to revive a fallen comrade, if necessary. Some items are good but by then you probably should have founded better gear. However, right before you see Fitch there is only one chest that is already open that says "it looks like someone looted it"..

Head north through the area, battling soldiers as you go. You'll pull two levers along the way. After you pull the second one, investigate the building just behind it to trigger the side quest. You can't open the building just yet, but you can backtrack to the previous chamber and then head through the side gate which is now on your right as you backtrack. Set your quest marker accordingly to make it easy to keep your directions straight. In the side chamber, you'll find some enemies and also a switch on the grass.

Defeat the enemies, then step on the switch and you'll be treated to an animation of the door opening, where you triggered the side quest.

A few enemies pour out of it, so be ready for them as you return to the door. Step through the newly opened door, descend some stairs and you're in the tower's dungeon. You can head forward now to pass through two small chambers you'll have to flip levers, and there's a save beacon along the way that you should put to use before arriving in a larger one. Soldiers will rush you if you start up toward the back side of that chamber.
